Mike is about to start supporting another mission tomorrow, so he decided to take today off yay!! Kelsie has been begging to go to the children's museum all week, so we decided today would be a good day to go. It was fun, but so much different than the last time we went. They have completely remodeled and added I think 2,000 sq ft to it and almost everything has moved around. While that is great and they do have a lot more to do it was hard for us to navigate since we were so use to the other layout. Kelsie loved the water area they have outside! That is where we spent most of our time. She just kept putting the boats, balls, and other floating objects into the water at different points experimenting to see which point made them go the fastest. They also have the baby chicks outside now and we went to see them at least a dozen times. She is obsessed with baby animals, so they were right up her alley! We had a great time and I am looking forward to going back. Next time I will remember a towel and a change of clothes. Unfortunately all that water play leads to a wet child!
After that museum we went to the mall. Kelsie LOVES eating at the mall! I am sure that is because we usually let her get a small cookie or ice cream if she eats well, but she also loves throwing coins into the water fountain they have there. I was shocked she didn't ask to do that today. I am assuming it was because it was around 2:30 when we left, which is way past nap time and that she was already tuckered out from the museum.
I love family days like today! Although places are often busier than any other weekday on Fridays they are still much less crowded than they would be on weekends. It is also nice for Mike and I both to get to experience Kelsie having a great time. We do take Kelsie places on weekends, but she sometimes gets overwhelmed due to the crowd so we don't stay long. It is often just Kelsie and me during the week, so Mike misses out on the fun. :(
